Getting Started - Case Studies, Reflective Learning Journeys and Assemblies

This website provides access to a wide range of case studies of successful education projects undertaken with groups of children and young people to engage them in an exploration of identity and cultural diversity - particularly case studies involving active and creative learning outside the classroom in different community-based, arts and heritage settings, school-to-school linking and twinning initiatives and also partnership/exchange programmes for groups of young people and their teachers.
Select case studies to find out how others have approached different aspects of identity, diversity and citizenship education.
You can also use the website's Reflective Learning Journeys to explore modules of work and learning programmes that have already been trialled in schools with a specific year group, or other group of young people - such as a 'gifted and talented' cohort, or EAL (English as an additional language) learners, etc.
Each of the Reflective Learning Journeys featured on this website involves an exploration of cultural diversity and engages children and young people in awareness raising around personal, plural and collective identities and citizenship - particularly in relation to understanding the self, conveying emotions, feelings and attitudes about what influences our identity formation and concepts of self-esteem, pride in ones identity and so on.
