Café Society (Cafesociety.org) believe that by learning about the cultures and people of the world we can come to a greater understanding of ourselves. Their hope is that they can provide the spark and skills for the people they work with to use their voices and improve the world.

Over the last 10 years Cafesociety.org has delivered numerous digital media training programmes to adults and young people in a diverse range of communities around the world. Cafesociety.org have developed projects not only in the UK but in countries as diverse as Ethiopia, the Navajo, Hopi and Gila River reservations in the US, the Seychelles and most recently in Sierra Leone.

The projects focus on areas such as digital storytelling, creative campaigning, film making and digital photography, journalism and blogging. The primary aim is to help people develop their voice through the innovative use of new technology.

At Cafesociety.org a number of learning programmes are offered and designed to fit within a variety of school curriculum areas - including citizenship, literacy, media and IT - yet still remaining flexible in terms of content and duration.

Cafesociety.org staff work alongside teaching staff and pupils to meet their needs and aim to provide schools with the resources and skills to continue a sustainable programme of work long after the initial collaboration.

At Cafesociety.org respect, equality and fun are the foundations of all their communication, relationships and working methods and they work at the forefront of digital communication, encouraging young people to use their voice and skills to create work for an international audience.
