The following are five assemblies designed for Key Stages 2 and 3 but also contain adaptation points for other Stages. As many secondary schools do not have assemblies in the summer months each assembly is also accompanied by guidance on adapting the themes and contents as an exercise for use in tutor group time or as a short lesson.
There are enough assemblies/ themes to choose one for each day of the week for WDWTWA? - however, each theme can stand alone.
The assemblies are designed to raise questions to support the investigation into WDWTWA - they are not designed to give solutions.
Based on the four themes of Who Do We Think We Are, the assemblies cover the following information:
- A general assembly - introducing the concept of WDWTWA
- Schools and Community
- Relationships, Belonging and Faith
- History and Settlement
- 'Britishness', national identity/values and the 2012 Games
