This 45 minute DVD film - published by English Heritage in 2005 - explores diversity through looking at the architectural, cultural, and the religious heritage of the city of Wolverhampton. The film offers an introduction to how Sikhs, Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, Jews and people from different Christian denominations use their faith buildings.
Local children from each of the nine faith buildings featured in the DVD are the stars of the film. Throughout the narrative the participants collectively demonstrate the importance of different faiths working together to support community cohesion, promote unity and challenge stereotypical perceptions and pre-judgements. Through observations and raised awareness about the similarities discovered between places and people, the film concludes by looking at important concepts linked to shared heritage.
Further details about the film are available online via the English Heritage website, in an article titled 'West Midlands: Wolverhampton Faith Trail and Film' at http://www.english-heritage.org.uk/server/show/ConWebDoc.7627.
