The Youth Sport Trust is a registered charity whose mission is to build a future for young people by enhancing the quality of their physical education and sporting opportunities. The Youth Sport Trust website provides information advice and guidance about ways to improve physical education, bring learning to life, increase participation in sport, support talent, build a new infrastructure for sports education, leadership and volunteering. The site also includes specifics about the work of the organisation, such as their current programmes, events, and latest news.
Changing Lives is an example of one of the Youth Sport Trust's current programmes - which involves bringing world class athletes into UK schools to help motivate young people. National School Sport Week is another key programme, which aims to celebrate the achievements made in Physical Education and school sport over the past year. The site has a number of additional features to help get students involved in physical activity, including Dame Kelly Holmes' National School Sport Week Diary and a chance to have Dame Kelly Holmes visit your school for National Sport Week.
The site is relevant to the Who Do We Think We Are project because it is all about improving the school and community, and getting young people involved in active citizenship through sport. It also provides policy information about the role of Specialist Sports Colleges and School Sport Partnerships in increasing youth participation in sport.
